Blue-Zone Technologies Ltd., a Canadian company, specializes in the cost-effective prevention of hospital operating room air pollution. The company’s market niche is in the sustainable capture of inhalation anesthetic agents, which are aggressive greenhouse gases routinely used and discharged into the atmosphere through the operating room scavenging system.

Blue-Zone’s brand-new facility in Concord houses the pilot purification plant for anesthetics, the first of its kind, which is financially supported by Industry Canada and the National Research Council.

Blue-Zone Technologies has worldwide patent rights for the commercialization of the proprietary Delta™ technology as applied to environmental health sciences.

The technology co-inventors are Dusanka Filipovic and the late Fraser Sweatman. Filipovic, Blue-Zone President and formerly with Praxair Canada, is the recipient of many awards in the field of engineering, including the Humanitarian Manning Principal Award for Canadian Innovation. Sweatman, on the other hand, was a lifetime contributor to the development and improvement of Anesthesia technology, and standards for its patients’ safety.
